History

1953

ASPEL is founded in 1953 in Eupen, Belgium. Shortly after the invention of polymers, ASPEL starts working with plastic injection molding, mostly for the electrical industry.

1960

In 1960, after a steady growth, ASPEL moves to a larger plant. ASPEL’s markets and segments are expanded to the sports, cosmetics, music and electronics industries.

1978

The range of customers keeps expanding. The first automotive customer order – Holding Springs, made in Eupen - is a fact.

1995

ASPEL becomes the preferred plastic injection molding supplier of Tier1 customers.

1998

ASPEL becomes a certified ISO 9001 plastic injection molding company. The ISO 9001 certification is a testimony to quality management.

2000

In 2000, ASPEL Group - a Belgian privately owned company - is created by merging 3 Belgian companies: ASPEL, POLYFORM and VG Plastics.

2004

In 2004, ASPEL opens its plants in Mexico and Slovakia and launches operational activities in China.

2004

Aspel's manufacturing plants achieve ISO TS 16949, the international quality management standard for the automotive industry.

2009

Aspel takes the next step towards continuous improvement by obtaining the ISO 14001 certification, showing compliance with market certificate requirements.

Today

The ASPEL Group is now fully owned by 3D Participaties, a family-owned investment company in Belgium. Our shareholder is financially strong and has a long-term investment strategy with a focus on value growth. Today, with over 300 employees and more than 100 machines with a range of 15 to 500 tons, ASPEL is present in 3 continents: Europe (Belgium & Slovakia), North America (Mexico) and Asia (China). In the past 65 years, ASPEL has made a name as a plastic injection molding company with a reputation for supporting customers to create value.
